Challenge

To establish transparency and track progress, the client needed a shared overview of 100+ local strategic initiatives across the globe. Each organizational unit was responsible for defining and executing initiatives supporting the strategy. Management wanted to maintain local ownership and, at the same time, facilitate cross-organizational learning. Due to the decentralized nature of the organization, the solution could not impose procedures or requirements that were difficult to enforce.

Solution

The previous process of aggregating diverse, inaccurate, and text-based reports was replaced by concise feedback from local managers on a set of criteria related to strategic value and execution. This quickly uncovered important insights and facilitated management decisions about prioritization, scoping, and resource allocation.
